Police recovers Hundred liquor bottles in Jammu, arrests one

Jammu: Continuing their intensive drive against smuggling in Jammu, the Lakhanpur police seized 96 expensive Liquor bottles from a luxury sleeper bus coming from Punjab to Jammu on Lakhanpur border and arrested a smuggler on Thursday.
The report said that the Lakhanpur police after getting inputs about the alcohol smuggling formed a team headed by SHO Lakhanpur Vijay Kotwal and laid a naka at Lakhanpur border in Kathua.

During the search, the police intercepted a Sleeper Bus (UP40T6629) which entered from Punjab to Lakhanpur border and during checking recovered 96 bottles of expensive alcohol from it and arrested a person.

Liquor was being smuggled from UP via Punjab to J&K, but its illegal supply foiled by the alert Jammu police on the border.
A case has been registered in this matter and further probe is on.
