Police foils Cattle smuggling in Jammu

Jammu: Cracking down heavily on the trade of bovine smuggling in Jammu, the Ghagwal police foiled a cattle smuggling bid by seizing a vehicle and rescuing five bovine animals on Thursday.

As per sources, the Ghagwal police in Samba acting on the specific inputs foiled a bovine smuggling by rescuing cattle from a Mahindra car, which fell in a canal in the mentioned area.

The police safely rescued four bovines, while one of them died, who was also took out by the police with the help  JCB and locals.

After the rescue operation, the police sent the cattle to a safe place and seized the vehicle used in the commission of crime and  took it to Ghagwal police station.

SSP Samba Benam Tosh recently revealed a data that 47 notorious cattle smugglers have been arrested by Samba Police in 3 months, 44 FIRs have been registered, 35 vehicles used in the commission of crime have been seized and 567 bovine animals have been freed.
