Huge Success: Women, several men arrested in Jammu for smuggling

Jammu: In a huge success, the Jammu Police has arrested two women and nine men for bovine smuggling in Samba and freed approximately 6 dozens of cattle from their clutches, while five trucks have been seized used in the commission of crime yesterday.

As per report, the Samba police after getting specific inputs from their reliable sources and acting on the First information reports lodged at Police Post Rakha Batali, PP Mansar, PP  Supwal, PP Ghagwal in the jurisdiction of Samba police against the cattle smugglers.

A police team was constituted which comprised of SHO Samba Rajeshwar Singh, SHO Ghagwal Bharat Bhushan, Incharge Police Post Mansar Deepak Sharma, in charge Police Post Supwal Divya Bharti, in charge Police Post, Rakh Amb Talli, Vineet Singh and in charge Police Post, Rajpura Sudhir Singh Charak under the supervision of DySP Garu Ram and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.

The accused cattle smugglers have been identified Mohd. Riyaz s/o Mohammad Iqbal of Samba, Bahar Ahmed Sohail s/o Ghulam Mohammad Iqbal of Banihal, Ramban, Irshad Ahmed s/o Mohammad Yaqoob of Larnoo, Anantnag, Liaqat Ali s/o Nazir Ahmed of Suchetgarh district Jammu, Asif Ali Chowan s/o Farooq Ahmed of Anantnag at present Krimchi Udhampur, Anwar Hussain s/o Malik Hussain of R.S.Pura Kadyal Jammu, Mohammad Veer s/o Mohammad Bashir of Nawanshahr, Punjab presently at Sunkhal Dinga Amb, Kathua, Talib Hussain s/o Showkat Ali of Larnoo Anantang and Yasir Ali, son of Liyakat Ali of Larnoo, Anantnag.

While the women bovine smugglers have been identified Saleema, wife of Mohd Hussain of Kathua currently at Samba, Veena wife of Mukhtyar Ali of Kathua currently at Samba.

However, SSP Samba Benam Tosh has revealed a data that 47 notorious cattle smugglers have been arrested by Samba Police in 3 months, 44 FIRs have been registered, 35 vehicles used in the commission of crime have been seized and 567 bovine animals have been freed.

Police has said that the cattle smugglers have been active during the day and the night also smuggling bovines to Kashmir.
