People celebrated Eid with warmth, religious fervour in Jammu

Jammu: Marking the culmination of the one month-long fasting,  Eid-ul-Fitri  celebrated with religious fervour and festivities on Saturday in Jammu.

Irrespective of their age, people could be seen hugging each other and exchange pleasantries after the prayers in the mosques in  Jammu.

Traditional feasts were prepared in Muslim houses with an array of ethnic delicacies.

The biggest gathering took place at Eidgah in Jammu, where scores of devotees performed Namaz-e-Eid and prayed for peace, development, and prosperity of the region as well as the country.

“We will wear new clothes and will gather Eidi from people. We will eat sweets and will pray”, a kid told media smiling.

“Whatever we have asked from Almighty, we want it to be fulfilled. We won’t face any troubles while performing Namaz”, another kid said.

“We take Eidi from our elders and will roam around with friends, we will also pray. Eid Mubarak everyone”, a kid added.

“I’m from U.P and I feel very happy to pray here. I have been coming here since seven years”, a man from Uttar Pradesh said.
