Road accident killed Youth in Jammu

Jammu: In yet another tragic road accident, a 21-year-old got killed when a vehicle hit him in Rehari area of Jammu this morning.
The report said that the deceased was going on his scooty bearing registration number (JK02CA9469) through Rehari area of Jammu, when a speeding vehicle came and hit him and left the victim in critical condition on the road there.

After the mishap the victim laid badly wounded on the road for a long time and no onlooker helped him, but when he was rushed to the GMC Jammu he breathed his last breathe there, the report said.

The vehicle who hit the deceased also fled the crime scene after hitting him and police is looking for its operator.
However, the eyewitnesses of the mishap has said that the vehicle who hit the victim is a bus, but the identity of the vehicle is yet to be ascertain.
The deceased is identified as Ashwani Thakur (21) r/o Patoli of Bhaderwah, who was residing in Palora area of Jammu.
After completing his graduation the deceased came to Jammu in search of work and sadly met with this tragedy.
The police has registered a case and they are currently poring over the CCTV cameras installed between Rehari-Shakuntala area road stretch.
Meanwhile, the victim’s autopsy is being conducted at the GMC Bakshi Nagar and his family members have reached there to receive their son’s body after medico-legal formalities.
According to a latest data by J-K Traffic police, Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed as many as 76,942 road accidents between 2010 and 2022 in which 12,429 people were killed, while 1,04,983 individuals were injured.
