J&K: Sr Advocate receives National Law Day Award
Senior Supreme Advocate Ashok Bhan yesterday received National Law Day Award for his outstanding contribution in the field of law and public services from former Chief Justice of India and Chairman National Human Rights Commission Dr K G Balakrishnan at an impressive function held at V K Krishna Menon Auditorium.
Senior Advocate Ashok Bhan has handled high-profile cases across the country. He has even worked in Jammu and Kashmir High Court. Following the turmoil in Kashmir valley, Advocate Bhan migrated and shifted to New Delhi and started practicing in the Supreme Court of India.

He has represented the country at UNGA and UNHRC and various other international forums. He is a door tenant at a prestigious law chambers in London. His focus and professional competence came to be recognized as early in nineties when he successfully conducted the Bofors case as Special Counsel for CBI in various courts in Delhi and Supreme Court.
From 1990 to till date, Bhan has been continuously handling matters of great importance, high-profile cases and other arbitration matters. He is known for his expertise in white collar criminal law, constitutional law and arbitration.
He has worked as a special senior advocate for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and argued many sensitive matters in various High Courts against high profile corrupt politicians and businessmen. He is a public speaker, a crusader against terrorism, a human rights activist and expert in conflict resolution jurisprudence. He is a track-2 diplomat and a peace activist.
Bhan is also chairman of Kashmir (Policy & Strategy) Group and is also working with London-based law firm and keeps them consulting on various matters. He also writes columns in several leading news-papers.
