Locals repair road as officials ignoring them in Jammu

Jammu: Continuing their Nobel cause, some members of Mir Chand Social workers Kathua carried out repair works on Kathua roads after the Jammu Public Works department ignored repeated representations to repair the bad roads in Kathua.
The members were seen busy filling up potholes on various stretches of roads in Kathua.

Talking to the media, Mr Mir Chand, said, ” We ignore potholes on seeing them on roads. Once I was going in an auto and a woman was also travelling in it with me”.

“The woman hurled abuses when the auto jolted cause of a pothole that day I took a firm decision to fill all the road pits in Jammu”, he said.
“People think of their goodwill but I thought people will fall in these pot holes here, I don’t know why local regime is not doing the patchwork”, he alleged.
“How we can say this is Kathua district if the roads here had been macadamised well then the pot holes have not emerged”, he asserted.
“It doesn’t matter whether costly or smaller budget vehicles fall in these road pits all will suffer equal damage”, he added.
“I appeal to our ministers, local people to repair pot holes in their nearby roads to save someone’s life”, he appealed.
“We found several pot holes on footpath of GDC Kathua and I took a month to fill them I thought if I go to the concerned dept it will take several months”, he claimed.
“We only want to save life of people and for that we can also lay our life”, he asserted.
“The PWD officials also use to ply on these roads aren’t they’re aware of pits”, he said.
