Police destroys poppy crops cultivated in house in Jammu
Jammu: Stepping up the Kathua police “War on Drugs ” campaign, a police team on Monday destroyed poppy cultivation spread over 2-3 Marlas in a house situated in Ward no.3 of Kathua Jammu.
As per report, After getting specific information that a house located in ward no.3 of Kathua has allegedly involved in poppy cultivation, a police team headed by SHO Kathua Sudhir Sadhotra with District Magistrate raided the mentioned house and destroyed the opium crop spread over 2-3 marlas in the residence.
The police also seized some riped opium crops from a room of the house, the report said.
“We get information that a man has been growing on his residence land”,said, Ward Councillor, Mr Sanjeev.
“I have seen the police has started its action”, he added.
“The opium crop has covered approximately 2-3 Marlas of land and it is destroyed now”, he further added.
“The house owner is not in the house and this is Kathua police campaign against drugs and they should be successful in uprooting it”, he remarked.
“We have never seen such a crop of opium”, he admitted.
