In continuation to its efforts to curb bovine smuggling, Rajbagh police today rescued 21 bovines and seized two vehicles

“According to police officials, police team led by SHO Rajbagh Inspector Tariq Ahmed intercepted Truck bearing registration number JK21A 1081 at Rajbagh loaded with 16 bovine animals and another team led by IC pp Chadwal PSI Sandeep Sharma managed to seize a Mahindra pickup bearing registration number PB06AW 5654 which was loaded with 05 bovine animals.The rescued bovines were shifted to a safer place and vehicles seized.
Cases under FIR Numbers 74/2023 and 75/2023 under sections 188 IPC and 11PC Act have been registered at Police Station Rajbagh and investigation started.

This is 9th bid foiled by police station Rajbagh during the month of March and a total of 100 bovine animals rescued.

The drive was carried out under the supervision of Pankaj Soodan, KPS, SDPO Border Chadwal and Suresh Chib Additional SP Kathua and overall supervision of Shiv deep Singh Jamwal SSP Kathua.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Kathua, Shiv deep Singh Jamwal has directed the officers to keep a check on illegal smuggling of bovines and take stern action against the culprits, he said.
