        Grandmother, granddaughter killed in Road accident in Jammu

Jammu:Â In a horrific accident a toddler and her maternal grandmother killed in a road accident in Kotli Mian Fateh village of Miran Sahib, Jammu, yesterday.
As per report, the accident took place when a toddler went out of her home after her grandmother who went to buy vegetables outside then a speeding tractor came and crushed to death both the victims on Bishnah- Miran Sahib road.

The deceased have been identified as Nirbhaya (2) and Neelam Devi (70) both residents of Kotli Mian Fateh village, Miran Sahib, Jammu.

“A tractor carrying a safety tank was coming and my mother was also coming from the other side of the road because she went to buy vegetables, the driver hit both my mother and granddaughter and killed them”, Victim Neelam Devi’s son allegedly said.
“My mother was trying to lift her granddaughter in order to take her away from the road,but in the meantime the tractor ran over them”, he added.
“I was in the fields looking after our cattle and when I came back I saw a crowd of people gathered on the road, then I saw my wife and granddaughter lying lifeless there”, Victim’s husband allegedly said while crying.
“What to do now as I have lost both my wife and granddaughter”, he added while sobbing.
“The police has taken the bodies to Nawanshahr”, he said.
The police has apprehended the driver of the tractor and they are probing this matter.
