Dream come true for the first group of 17 Agniveers from Banihal, Ramban district prepared by the Indian Army (Rashtriya Rifles), who successfully cleared all stages of the examination to become a soldier in the Indian Army.
The Agnipath scheme was rolled out by the Government for providing an opportunity to motivate youth who are keen to don uniform in June 2022.
A drive on awareness for Agnipath Scheme was carried out by Indian Army which motivated youth from remote areas in the hilly region of Ramban district and the interested youth were given proper-recruitment training, pre-medical examinations and coaching for written exams in Banihal for six months.
Ultimately, with its perseverance and continued effort, 17 youth qualified the recruitment process to become part of the elite force.
Today Army felicitated all the qualified Agniveers and guided them on their future itinerary to become professional soldiers.
The event was attended families of all the successful candidates and others.
