India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been fined 25% of his match fees (₹3.75 lakh) for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the first Test against Australia in Nagpur.
Jadeja was seen applying a soothing cream to the swollen index finger of his bowling hand.
The ICC stated Jadeja didn’t ask for permission from the on-field umpires.
The India team management had explained that the finger spinner was applying the cream to a swelling on the index finger of his bowling hand. This was done without asking for permission from the on-field umpires.
