A picture has gone viral showing wicketkeeper-batter KS Bharat hugging his mother ahead of his debut for Team India in the first Test against Australia in Nagpur.
Bharat received his debut cap from Cheteshwar Pujara. Bharat, who plays for Andhra in domestic cricket, has scored 4,707 runs in 86 first-class matches.
With his debut, he became the 305th player to represent the Indian side in Tests. Previously, he donned the whites as a substitute for injured Wriddhiman Saha in the first Test match against New Zealand in November 2021.
