Army colonel from Jammu dies in Road accident

 

Jammu: A colonel in the Indian Army died on Thursday when his speeding car rammed into a roadside parked trolley at NH 144A in Village Thati, Akhnoor, Jammu.

As per report, the victim was travelling in his Safari car bearing registration number (JK02BE8014) and rammed into a roadside trolley  bearing registration number (RJ07GD9321) and died on the spot.

The deceased was identified as Nasib Singh (62) s/o Gandharv Singh r/o Dhar Dhrochan, Gharota, Jammu, he is a retired Colonel of Indian army.

The locals immediately informed to nearby Army Camp, who shifted him to the military hospital Akhnoor where doctors pronounced him brought dead.

Gharota Police after getting the information shifted the dead body of the deceased to Sub District Hospital Akhnoor for the Postmortem.

Joginder Singh SHO Gharota informed the media that after all legal formalities the dead body of the deceased has been handed over to the family members.

The case has been registered and investigation is ongoing, he said.
