Thief strikes temple for fifth time in Jammu

 

Jammu: The police are having a tough time tracking down a thief who hit a temple five times in Dhyansar, Bari Brahmana in last two months.

In all five instances, the latest being on yesterday, the thief broke the lock of the offering box of Dhyansar temple and took away the money.

“This is the fifth time a theft happened here and last time on 4th Jan, the burglar took away Rs 10-12K cash, gold jewellery and diety’s nose ring”, Mr Ram Gopal general secretary of the temple said.

“We have reported these thefts many times at the police station, but the police is not able to arrest him”, he added.

“We don’t who steals from our temple and we have built this temple with the help of donation”, he said.

“Temples should not be targeted by thieves and police should do patrolling here regularly to apprehend him”, another local said.
