The DC Jammu Avny Lavasa on Sunday reacting on yesterday’s protest and stone pelting at Malik Market after the anti-encroachment drive has assured & requested the locals to not disturb law & order as houses of poor people will not be touched.

“Today a high value  ‘MG Showroom’ in Channi was razed ,which was earlier served noticed to evacuate as it is built on state land”.

“The owner was not able to provide valid reasons and papers that it is not constructed on govt land and that’s was why it was demolished”, Lavasa said.

“I want to clear one thing that the govt will not raze houses of poor people and the small shops on which livelihood of such people is dependent”, she added.

“The drive is against only those  people who have built establishments on govt land”, Lavasa said.

“I request locals to maintain law and order situation, because some disturbance was witnessed during the drive on highway in Channi”, she remarked.

“I request people to maintain law and order as our drive is pro-people and it is being done for public welfare”, she said.

“We want people to support administration’s move as residences and small shops will not be  touched”, Lavasa said.
