Police Constable arrested with 10gm of Heroin in Jammu

Jammu: Cracking down heavily on Narcotics Smuggling as well as to neutralise the activities of drug peddlers within the district, Kathua Police under the guidance of SSP Kathua Shivdeep Singh Jamwal yesterday seized approx. 10 grams of Heroin (Chitta) like narcotics near Basanterpul Dhar Road,  and arrested 1 drug peddler arrested and seized a vehicle on the spot.

A Police team led by SI Sanjeet Singh, PS Ramkot under the supervision of SDPO Billawar Arvind Kumar and laid a special Naka/checking duty in Ramkot at Basanterpul Dhar Road and during the checking  intercepted one suspicious vehicle (Bolero) bearing Reg. No. JK08H-6162, which was being driven by a person namely Farooq Ahmed S/o Ghulam Mohiuddin R/o Malhar, Tehsil Billawar,  Kathua who is serving as a SgCt (Selection Grade Constable) in J&K Armed Police 12th Battalion.

On thorough checking approx. 10 grams of Heroin(Chitta) like narcotics was recovered from his illegal possession.

Thereafter, the Kathua police recovered all the narcotics along with that seized a  vehicle(Bolero).

On this an instant case an FIR No. 11/2023 U/S 8/21/22/ NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Billawar and further investigation is underway.
