Jammu man gets Rs 54K challan from other state he never visited

 

In a bizarre incident, a man from Rajouri area of Jammu got e-challan for his vehicle for violating traffic rules in Agra (UP), where he never visited, yesterday.

The truck driver has allegedly told the media that he never went to Agra.

Vehicle owner, Zulfkar Mirza said that he got the e-challan of Rs 54,000 for his vehicle bearing registration number (JK11G0815) via SMS  for violating traffic rules in Agra.

“I was shocked when I suddenly received an SMS on my mobile phone that my vehicle has been fined of Rs 54K for plying in Agra, where I never went,” Mirza said.

“Its been 10 days since my truck is parked here in Narwal as it is new & still required for reparing work and today I received a fine of Rs 28,000 from Agra”, he added.

“I went to police station they told me that these cases are dealt by traffic police, but they also told me that it is fake”, he said.

“The e-challans has 9th Jan date on it, but I received  them today, I was at my sister’s house in Srinagar, when I was fined in UP”, he said.

“I got another e-challan of Rs 26,000, but suprisingly I never visited Agra and my truck is also new of which I don’t even have permit yet”, Mirza said.
