Proud Moment: Specially abled Son of Vegetable Seller from Jammu selected for Indian Cricket Team

Jammu: If there is a will, there is a way. The age-old saying has been proven right by a cricketer of  Akhnoor area of Jammu.

Rahul Sharma from Akhnoor has scripted history today because he has been selected in the Indian cricket team by the Board of Disabled Cricket Association (BDCA) India.

Rahul Sharma is specially-abled but still he emerged victorious like a champion.

Rahul has been selected as Wicket keeper in the team & his achievement in the upcoming match against Sri Lanka in Chennai will inspire J&K’s youth, to make India proud.

“First of all, I would like to congratulate Rahul’s parents who supported him against all odds”, an official who was present at Rahul’s house said.

“He has honed his craft very well and we are very happy that he will represent Akhnoor vis-a-vis India”, he added.

“He has become an inspiration for kids in Akhnoor and they should consider him as their muse”, he remarked.

“The younger generation should learn from him to attain their goals”, he said.

“We are very happy that Rahul has been selected to play for India. He was very young when he started playing cricket”, Rahul’s Father said.

“He was 10yrs old when for the first time he held bat, even late at night he use to practice. He is very passionate for cricket”,  he added.
