Public at risk from overloaded Matadors in Jammu
Overloading and rash driving by matadors in Jammu has become a common sight, even in the presence of the traffic department which fines them, every now and then.
In the same case, an overloaded matador bearing registration number (JK02AM1872) was seen plying from Bhatindi which was stopped on the road midway & fined by the on-duty traffic police there, when it was reported to be overloaded on Sunday.

Transporters continue to make passengers suffer by cramming public transport vehicles with people beyond their maximum capacity in Jammu, the report said.

 J&K reported over 5,000 road crashes until December 2022
As per the government data, Jammu and Kashmir reported 5,189 road accident incidents last year. In these, a total of 677 lost their lives and 7,152 people suffered injuries. Of the total accidents reported in until December 2022, 4,644 were non-fatal and 545 were fatal.
