Proud Moment: After Losing her father Jammu’s girl cleared JKAS in 2nd attempt

Barleen kour has brought delights to her family and the whole jammu district by clearing coveted JKAS exam.

Conversing with the media, Barleen, said, “I have done my schooling from Presentation convent school and Bachelors in Dental surgery from ‘NIMS’, Jaipur with aegis of Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS)”.

“In 2019 I sat for first attempt of JKAS, but could not clear its ‘Mains’ because of five marks, but thanks God and mother I cleared it in my second attempt”, Barleen said.

Explaining about the ‘PMSSS’ scholarship, Barleen, said, “The scholarship started in 2010 by the Congress govt to provide employment avenues to J&K students and 5,000 scholarships were advertised”.

“There are ten colleges for medical stream and five students can get seats through NEET exam and before it the forms are required to be filled on ‘AICTE’ website”, she said.

“I haven’t spent a single penny to become a doctor” Barleen added.

“I want students to avail this opportunity to progress more in their life”, she said.

“I have received coaching for JKAS from Genesis institute at Gandhi Nagar headed by Mr Jaswinder Singh and Rahul sir”, Barleen remarked.

“I haven’t received any coaching for my first attempt and for the 2nd I went to this institute Jaswinder sir told me that to be carefree about the coaching fee cause it  costs more than a lakh to study all subjects, which was really pricy for me”,  she added.

“I lost my father in 2016, he was AEE in PHE dept, so I cannot pay the coaching sum, being a Sikh student Jaswinder sir helped me alot. He taught me all the subjects”, elated Barleen told media.

“I want to give a shout for my teachers, Jaswinder, Rahul and Vishal sir, all of them helped me alot and it is because of them I am at giddy heights and thanks a ton for this”, Barleen added.

“When she informed me that her result is out, I was at cloud nine and I remained sleepless all night”, Barleen’s Mother said.

“Barleen told me that her result will be declared at 12’o clock in night & it worried me, because last time I saw how my daughter wept when she can’t passed the exam”, she said.

“she had high hopes that she will succeed in 1st attempt, my fears were high that she might not have to bear the same fate, but she succeeded at last”, she further said.

“Her father had been so glad to see Barleen. When she applied for BDS her father opposed it cause he wanted his daughter to aim huge”, Barleen’s mother added.

Moreover she, said, “Barleen’s father studied from ‘NIT Warangal’ and he was of the opinion that one should study in best institutes, but this was Barleen’s objective and she finally attained it”.

“Barleen is very dear to all of us. I used to tell her we will get you wed once you become adult, but she used to say no Masi I want to study and achieve something huge”, barleen’s Aunt said.

“I am also a Dental surgeon and Barleen has made us extremely proud. We have become famous and she has done so well”, Barleen’s Uncle said.

“I like to keep diary and it is my hobby to write events in it. If anyone feels low they should just jot it down on paper and trash it”, a zealous Barleen told media.

“I have inculcated this habbit from my parents, they also used to write their experiences in it. It can help people as it helped me in my hurdles”, she added.
