Jammu: Property worth lakhs gutted in major fire
Kathua: A wooden house was burnt to ashes when a fire broke out in ward no’6 of Kathua, Jammu last night.
However, the wooden house could not be saved and the fire was brought under control by the locals. The cause of the fire is yet to be known.

Talking to media, Mr Makhan Din, said, “We were in Pathankot as our daughter was unwell and only our children were present in the house when the fire broke out”.

“We lost all our stuff to the blaze and the locals doused the flames. We are fortunate that we didn’t lost anyone in this fire”, he added.
“Around 12-1am in the night his house caught fire. Everything that was in the house including fridge, utensils, jewellery, food, papers of bike turned ash”, Sarpanch Rashid Ahmed said.
“We don’t the cause of fire, but neither the police and the administration has visited him here yet”, he further said.
