19-yr-old stabs himself while parents fight, dies
A college student stabbed himself to death depressed over frequent fights between his parents at Kundrathur on Thursday morning, police said.
The victim, Balakrishnan, was a BCom student of a private college in Kovur. His father Prabhakaran, who is a construction labourer, failed to go to job and picked up quarrel with his wife. On several occasion Balakrishnan tried to pacify the couple but to no avail.

Police said whenever the couple fought their neighbours had to intervene to pacify them which Balakrishnan did not like. Despite his warning the couple kept quarrelling. During one such quarrel on Thursday morning when Balakrishnan was getting ready for college, his father began shouting. In the melee he picked up the kitchen knife and threatened to end his life.
Balakrishnan who was upset over his threats grabbed the knife from him and stabbed himself in the chest multiple times. Prabhakaran took him to the hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
