Jammu: Cash, Jewellery worth lakhs stolen from locked house

Doda: Cash and jewellery worth lakhs were stolen from the locked house of Nazir Ahmed Beigh situated at Bhaderwah in Doda, Jammu, yesterday.

The robbery took place when the family members of the house had gone to Udhampur for attending their daughter-in-law who was admitted at hospital there, the report said.

“On 25th of December, we went to Udhampur  for our son’s daughter as she was pregnant and was about to deliver the baby. When I returned after twenty days I saw our safe broken, all the goods in the house scattered and cash around 2.15 lakh and jewellery approximately of 2.50 lakh stolen”, Nazir Ahmed said.

“My son kept the cash in the house because me and my wife usually remain unwell and many a times we have to go udhampur for the check-up”, he said.

“I request SHO and SDPO Bhaderwah to look into our matter”, he added.
