Rehbar-e-khel teachers demand regularisation, decrease in probation period

Jammu: Hundreds of Rehbar-e-Khel teachers on Tuesday continued their protest for the consecutive 29th day under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar -e-Khel Teachers Association at Press Club Jammu.

The protestors were raising slogans like ‘We want justice, Khel Khel Rehbar-e-Khel, Five years & Five years’, in their agitation for their demands.

“From 29 days we are staging agitation for our concerns. We have only one demand that our probation period should be reduced to 5 years from 7, which we have proposed the local govt also”. one of the agitators said.

“The period of all rehbar schemes was fixed for 5 years. However, the period of the Rehbar e Khel scheme was fixed for 7 years. Our demand is to minimize 7 years period up to 5 years as in the case of Rehbar-e-Taleem”, he added.

He further said that the protestors will only stop their agitation when their demands will be fulfilled by the local regime.

“The Home minister’s visit in J&K didn’t helped us as he said nothing about our issues. We are optimistic that the present govt will do something for us by reducing  our probation period to five years”, another protestor said.
