The sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday caught red-handed a Sub-Inspector of Police of Bahadurpura Police Station here when he was accepting a bribe amount of Rs 8,000.

The Accused Officer (AO) R Sravan Kumar was caught red handed at 1305 hours by the ACB officials when he demanded and accepted the bribe amount of Rs 8,000 from the complainant Mohammed Mujeeb of Hyderabad to spare the latter’s son from the alleged cheating case and to return cell phone of his son, a ACB release said.

The tainted bribe amount of Rs 8,000 was recovered from the possession of the Accused Officer when the fingers of his right hand yielded positive result in a chemical test.

The Sub-Inspector performed his duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage.

Therefore, Sravan Kumar was being arrested and produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases Court at Nampally, here, the release added.
