The Union Home Minister Amit Shah Friday chaired a high-level meeting with officials in Jammu in the wake of a militant attack in Rajouri district on 01 January.

Official sources said that Amit Shah arrived in Jammu today afternoon, where he was received by LG Manoj Sinha.

Shah was scheduled to visit Rajouri to meet the families of those killed in the militant attack on 01 January, however, due to bad weather his chopper was not given clearance for onward journey by Air Traffic Control (ATC).

An official said Shah later held a high-level meeting in Raj Bhawan Jammu to review the security situation in the wake of the Rajouri attack.

An officials said LG Manoj, senior police, civil officials and heads of all security and intelligence agencies attended the meeting.

An official said Shah also spoke to the families of victims killed in the attack over phone and assured all possible help.

At least seven civilians were killed after militants stormed residential houses in Dhangri village of Rajouri district on 01 January.
