The Food Safety Department found fake ghee at a processing unit in the Nazuk Mohalla of the Anantnag district of south Kashmir.

According to officials, following a tip, the Food Safety Department raided a processing facility in Nazuk Mohalla, Anantnag, where they found the offenders producing a substance that resembled ghee. “During the initial investigation, it was found that the same substance was being sold to the public under the name of ghee,” he said.
He said FSO Anantnag has urged the general public to buy only ghee that has been correctly labeled and has the necessary FSSAI certificates and to avoid buying imitation products.
He added that in order to book everyone involved in the illegal conduct, the department has also brought up the matter with the police authorities for a thorough inquiry.
