In the wake of recent attacks in the bordering Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, the security structure has been augmented at the Jammu Tawi Railway Station.

Jammu Tawi Railway Station, Station Director Uchit Singhal on Tuesday chaired a meeting of ticket checking staff, RPF and GRP to discuss the various areas which are needed to be focussed upon in view of recent terrorist incidents and approaching Republic Day celebrations, said a handout.

The GRP and RPF could be seen working in unison to attend to the safety and security concerns at the railway station complex with the help of sniffer dogs and metal detectors, it read.

It further added that the meeting was also organised with the contractors and vendors working at the Railway Station to keep a strict vigil for any unclaimed luggage, suspicious person or activity.
