Karachi-based fashion designer Sonya Battla recently tweeted a picture of her grandmother’s handwritten wedding invite from 1933.
The invite, written in Urdu, was for a wedding that took place in Delhi’s Gali Qasim Jaan where Urdu poet Mirza Ghalib’s residence is located. The pic has gone viral on Twitter, with people seeking and offering translations of the text.
