Jammu, November 30, 2022: The National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers unit of Government Degree College, Kathua on Wednesday conducted a road safety campaign on National highway and stressed on the need to give priority to road safety and educate people in this regard.
The NSS students volunteers were seen halting riders on the road asking them to wear helmets to avoid untoward road mishaps.

Priyanka Malhotra one of the volunteer student told the media that they have organised this campaign today to aware all the road users to strictly follow the traffic rules to avert accidents. “The people should wear helmets to avoid being victims to road tragedies”, she said.
“We have conducted this road safety campaign here in collaboration with ‘Road Safety Club Jammu’ our aim was to aware people and students on issues like drunk driving, negligent and rash driving, which is the main cause for loss of life in road mishaps in Jammu. Recently , we have seen many cases of road accidents in Jammu and they can be prevented if riders strictly adhere to the traffic rules”, Vishal Gupta another student said.
“The aim of conducting the rally was to create awareness among the public about road safety and highlight the importance of use of helmet and seat belt. The students appealed all the road users to strictly follow the traffic rules to avert accidents”, Shivani another student added.
