Jammu, 16 November:  The Maharaja Ranbir Singh Canal development project of Rupees One crore and thirty-eight lakhs sanctioned by local administration is still a non-starter because the ‘Irrigation and flood Control department’ Jammu and Bishnah Municipal Committee are not cooperating with eachother to renovate the canal.

As per the proposal conceived by consultants,  patches of open land along the water body from Sahib Bandagi Ashram to R. K school Bishnah will be developed into parks, gym and footpath for the local residents. But the contention between the two departments has not seen any progress yet, the report said.

We appeal the concerned departments to re-solve their differences so this project could see a head start, the reporter said.
