An 8-year-old girl from Punjab’s Patiala has started her journey on cycle yesterday from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.She is Ravi, a second class student of ‘The Milestone Smart’ school, DLF colony in Patiala, Punjab.
Accompanied by Mr Simran her father a Punjab police personnel, she started this expedition to spread awareness about the cleanliness and save the girl child.
Interacting with the media-person Ravi said that yesterday she reached Jammu travelling 260kms distance till now.She further said that she has participated in other cycling events held in Spit, Rampur,Nako, Narakanda in Himachal Pradesh, where she sustained gashes cause of cycling.
“I want to be a Judge.We also have a twenty member cycling club in Patiala and my uncle is our mentor”, Ravi said.
Mr Simran said we have decided to set an example for all those parents who do not motivate their children to participate in various fields. Adding he said ” Whenever we fell prey to injuries cause of pedalling people came forward to help us, once Indian army soldiers nursed us on the way, he said.
Moreover, he said that they will not stop their voyage and they know the excursion ahead has many challenges. He said that the people should encourage girls to take part in various sports and should not keep them at their homes.
“We also have our youtube channel known as ‘Himalayan Cycling Club”, Ravi said.
