Rajouri, Nov 13, 2022: A shopkeeper namely Sanjeev Kumar s/o Sham Lal resident of Kalakote, Rajouri allegedly died by suicide on Sunday after being “harassed” by his party workers and police for some issue his family has said as reported by the media.
Family members of the man have alleged that he was mentally harassed by party associates and policemen at police station kalakote,Rajouri ,Jammu over some matter which according to deceased’s family members the police has not yet revealed to them.
Angry over this, locals and Sanjeev’s family members staged a sit-in keeping the body on the road, disrupting vehicular traffic there at Kalakote in Rajouri.
A local resident said that there was some conspiracy which was going on against the deceased as he was a diligent party worker of BJP. He further said that some of the victims party workers has pestered the deceased that was why he took this extreme step.
“Sanjeev was working in his shop when at 10-11am in the morning he was called at the police station, there we do not know what police has done to him and after coming back from there he committed suicide. Musawar Hussain along with some party workers and a Munshi (police constable) are the people who are behind Sanjeev’s suicide his family members are saying and they have said that they will not allow the body to be moved from the spot till justice is received”, he said.
The family members said they will not allow the body to be moved from the spot till justice is received.
Mother of the deceased told the media that his son was the only earner from their family and they will only move from the road to conduct his final rites, when police will inform them why her son took his life.
