Jammu, November 9, 2022: The PM Package employees agitation on Wednesday entered its 177th day here at Relief commissioner office near canal road in Jammu, they have been staging protest for their demands such asĀ  transfer to Jammu region and release of upheld salaries from some months and against their targeted killings by terrorists which started in Kashmir since last year.

Mr Yogesh one of the anguished protestors said that tomorrow and a day before it they went to Lieutenant Governor’s office where they held a peaceful protest and when for the first time LG sir came to meet them at Shiekhpora in Srinagar, there he told the agitating protestors that he is ready to extend his help twenty four hours of the day.

“On 24th of August we sent a mail to LG Manoj Sinha sir that we want to meet you in order to discuss our grievances with him, but he paid no heed to our mail. The top officials in administration has failed to address our concerns to LG sir saying they are duty bound and can’t do anything. Yesterday, when we heard that LG sir’s convoy was going to pass nearby our office, we came outside and held our placards high in air in hope that he might notice us and come to meet us, but his convoy passed ignoring our absence”, he said.

He further said that it has been 180 days since they are agitating here in Jammu. Adding he said, “We are ready to resume our services in Jammu and we will work here with more dedication. Why are salaries are withheld. There are 4000 families of employees who are suffering. Today, when we came here to continue our sit-in we saw a posse of security forces deployed outside our office, but I want to tell the administration that we don’t need security here as we are not under threat in Jammu cause our life is at stake there in Kashmir region where law and order is completely disturbed by terrorists”.

Mrs Suman another agitator said that she is a PM package employee at Baramulla in Kashmir and they have been sitting in protest from last six months when target killings started in Kashmir.

“The localĀ  media has supported us since the day we started our agitation, but the administration has literally failed to solve our issues. LG Manoj Sinha Sir paid obeisance to our brother who attained martyrdom but he didn’t have time for us those we are still alive. Not for once he stopped to meet us and I think he will only meet us when someone from us will get martyr there in Kashmir. He should listen to our pain and our demands. Why we are being punished cause we are Hindus or Indians, aren’t we are human beings”, she added.
