Jammu, October 25: Some residents of panchayat Kanthan of Reasi district on Tuesday demanded relocation of asphalt plant in their locality asserting that it has become a health hazard for their health there.
Speaking to the media Mrs Banti a local resident allegedly said that they want that this plant should be shifted to somewhere else as according to them the harmful gases which is emitting from it is proving poisonous to their health.

“Our health is at risk here, where will our live-stock will graze. This plant is contaminating the place from where we fetch water for ourselves. My house is close to this asphalt plant and an unbearable foul smell emits from it. Our Sarpanch also advised the plant owner to shift it somewhere else”, she said.
She further said that her grand kids study in a school which falls nearby to this plant, adding she said ” my kid’s school is close to this asphalt plant and they told me that some kind of foul gas emits from it”.
“They should not close this plant rather they should re-locate it”, she said.
