Bari Brahmana/Jammu, October 20: The Bari Brahmana police on Thursday arrested seven gamblers and seized stake money of Rs 15,000 from them.
As per the report, the police acting on a tip-off conducted raids in different locations in Bari Brahmana, Jammu from where seven persons were caught red-handed.

Those arrested were identified as Girdhari Lal (Bishnah), Mukesh Saini (Teli Basti), Kuldeep Raj (Dhansar), Irshad Hussain (Teli Basti), Sunil Atri (Kunjwani), Mohd. Aslam (Teli Basti) and Neeraj Sharma (Teli Basti) Bari Brahmana, Jammu.
The police have booked them under Section 13 of the Gambling Act in Bari Brahmana police station.
As the festival of Diwali is approaching near the gamblers have become active in Jammu and this can prove dangerous to the society and their families in particular cause we have seen how these gamblers bet their worthy property in this game of cards causing trouble to their families, the report said.
