Reacting on this decision BJP’s former minister Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal told the media the Jammu city is developed in the name of ‘city of temples’ and  this decision of selling beer in local shops, which is recently approved by the LG regime has said that a particular brand of beer will be sold in departmental stores of Jammu, which according to him has been opposed by his party since the day it became public.

“When this order came out our former Deputy Chief Minister Mr Kavinder Gupta showed resentment against it and requested the LG administration that they  should not spoil the religious fervor of Jammu City by passing such decisions. Our kids, elders, youngsters frequently use to visit these shops and selling of such alcoholic beverages there will create a bad impression in them”, he said.

He further said that Mr Kavinder Gupta personally met Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and appealed him to cancel this order. ” Some of our leaders are going to meet the LG sir in his office over this matter and there we are also going to address the issues of Kashmiri migrants and other employees who are agitating here in Jammu for their transfer”, he added.

Moreover he said that such orders will spoil youngsters and they will ensure its cancellation. “The Bureaucracy is dominating the affairs of local administration and I don’t think LG sir is consulting the central govt in every decision, the local bureaucrats are influencing him”, he said.

Lastly, he said that they will demand CBI inquiry in recent JKSSB exam scam cases also.
