Jammu, October 20,2022: The District Jammu administration on Thursday conducted a demolition drive in which they demolished several illegally constructed shops located at Panama Chowk near Divisional commissioner office, Jammu.
As per the report, the shops, were demolished completely by the local administration asserting that the land belongs to state government. Later a sign broad was planted by the administration at the site of demolition which reads that “this land comes under the jurisdiction of village Rakh Bahu, Bahu Tehsil and trespassers will be persecuted as per law”.

Earlier in the month of March, a similar anti-encroachment drive was conducted by the Jammu administration in which dozens of structures, including buildings and shops, were demolished near the Bathindi crossing on the Narwal Bypass by the revenue department amid heavy deployment of police and paramilitary forces. Which sparked massive protests by the local residents.
