Jammu, October 17,2022: Defrauding people, Big Bazar of Future Retail Group has closed its stores in Jammu and other parts of the country without intimating its registered customers to whom the company owes millions of rupees.
Reports said that Big Bazar administration did not inform its registered customers before or even after closure of its stores on February 25 and thus misappropriated the amount in Profit Club wallets of thousands of Jammuites.
Mr Tilak Raj Kalsotra an aggrieved customer of a Big Bazaar store in Jammu allegedly told the media that he is an ex-army person, who last year bought a big bazaar voucher card and deposited 10,000 of amount in it to buy the goods from the store as it provides benefits to those customers who become club members of the store.
“They told me that I will be benefitted from this voucher scheme and I will be given discount on the goods which I will buy from their store, thus IÂ came in their ploy and deposited money in it. They further informed me that I can do shopping up to one thousand rupees every month with discounts included and I agreed to it cause I also used to come here to buy medicines. Till now I have only shop three times from this voucher, but then again when I came to the store recently the employees there told me that something is going on and I should visit next time”, he said.
He further said that after some days he was informed that the big bazaar store is closed and from september 25 onwards it will open again. But then again when he went to the store in October some employee told him that Reliance is taking over this store.
He added that he got not satisfactory answer of his queries from them and approximately seven thousand rupees of amount is still left unused in his big bazaar voucher, which he wanted back.
Moreover, he said that the employees of the store has provided him a toll free number to share his grievances, which according to him is of no use.
“I think people of Jammu have become habitual of the frauds cause there might be thousands of customers like me and they all have been duped”, he said.
He said that the local government should take cognizance of this matter.
