Jammu, October 15, 2022: A terrifying incident has appeared in which a lineman working with the Power Development Department was electrocuted to death on Friday at Amb Grota, Akhnoor in Jammu.
As per the report, the incident happened when the deceased went to repair a service line in Amb Grota , Akhnoor where he succumbed to death after electrocution. It has been said that the deceased was working as a daily wager in the power department there from the past fifteen years.

The deceased has been identified as Mohan Lal (43) resident of village Bhagani in Bhalwal, Jammu.
Mr Arun Kumar son of the deceased allegedly said that his father went to do his duty as he daily used to go and when he went there to rectify the electric line he died on the spot cause of electric shock which he received from the pole.
“The JE should have checked whether the power of that service line which my father went to repair was switched off or not as how he can have an electric jolt. Not a single person came from the power department to inquire about my father’s death”, he said.
Another relative of the deceased said that his uncle’s sons should be given job in place of their father by the govt as they are very poor who are struggling to earn their daily beard.
He further said that his deceased uncle was a conscientious worker and he used to give his services twenty hours of the day even in bad weather conditions.
A local said that the deceased was a very honest employee of the department who was carrying out his services with dedication in their area from last 15 years. He further said that the senior officers of the electricity department should check after their daily wagers and especially they should take cognizance of deceased (Mohanlal) as his family is destitute and the govt should appoint his son in his place in the department or else they will stage a protest by keeping the deceased’s dead body on the road till the time their demand not gets fulfilled by the local administration.
