Ahead of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s Rajouri visit on October 04, security has been beefed up and put on a maximum alert across the district.

According to the report, the Principal Secretary Rohit Kansal  along with Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar on Sunday visited the district and reviewed the security arrangements there in presence of District commissioner  Vikas Kundal and SSP Rajouri and DIG Poonch Range who briefed the security details to the worthy guests there at new bus stand, Rajouri, Jammu.

The Home Minister Amit Shah will address a mega gathering approximately of  one lakh people here and for which the local BJP party members and party workers are putting all their efforts for its success. People are calling this as Maha rally of the Home Minister and along with that sitting arrangement for over 1 lakh people is also being made at this new bus stand, the report said.

Earlier, in 2014 Prime Minister Narendra Modi also addressed a huge rally of people where the home minister is coming to address the people of Rajouri, Jammu, the report said.

Pertinent to mention, Shah is scheduled to visit Rajouri on October 4 and address a mega rally there, while people are also estimating that he could  announce ST status for Pahari people there.

The police and paramilitary forces have been deployed for surveillance and vehicles are being checked at several places in the district.
