Doda, October 1, 2022: A shocking video has appeared on social media today in which some locals of Gajoth area of Doda, Jammu were seen carrying a pregnant woman in a makeshift palanquin to GMC Doda for the treatment as in their village there are no health care centers which can help the patients.
They can be seen in the video carrying the ailing woman in the palanquin through rocky terrain simultaneously alleging the local administration of lack of road connectivity there in their area, the report said.

A vexed palanquin carrier allegedly told the media that they will boycott the upcoming elections as the successive and the present government has failed in providing them a suitable road and lack of which further makes their movement hard to the city, when they have patients.
“Our village lack macadamized roads cause of which this woman lost her infant in her womb. This is the plight of our people and the govt is responsible for this. The Doda city is from our village that is why we have to carry patients like this from our Chanti village crossing the tough terrain”, he said.
He further said that they have to cover a distance of five kilometer on foot to reach to Government Hospital Doda to get the treatment.
“We walked for two and half hours carrying the palanquin and in the midway when we were informed that lady’s infant has died we decided then to take her back to the home as we thought it is futile to take her to the hospital”, he added.
