Kathua, Sept 26: Local residents of Logate area of Kathua showed their resentment against a newly constructed bridge in Logate, alleging the National highway authority and the local administration of shoddy works in construction of the bridge, which according to them can cause threat to vehicle operators.

A local resident allegedly said that the bridge rests with the jurisdiction of panchayat Logate, Kathua and is in deplorable condition for some days cause of continuous illegal mining near the bridge.
“At any time a fatal accident can occur on this bridge because of its poor condition and it been some years since its construction but look at its structure as there are chances that this bridge can fall”, he said.
He asked how the local miners can get permission to do mining here and it is really baffling for them as how they acquired ‘no objection certificate’ (NOC) for it.
” I want to appeal our local sarpanches that they should also consult public opinion prior giving their consent to authorities for such constructions here”, he said.
