Jammu, 25 Sept: ASI Traffic G C Thapa on Sunday talked to the media dismissing all the allegations which the locals levelled against him.
His reaction came today against the local shopkeepers in Bus stand, Jammu, who accused the official of pestering the local residents of Jammu by issuing illegal challans to them.
ASI Thapa told the media that he is taking stringent actions against those violators only who have encroached roadside places illegally so that roads can be made traffic free to avoid accidents.
“The local shopkeepers are renting out some space to these street vendors in front of their shops on the road here, which congests this road causing accidents that’s why I have taken action against them. I will not work here as their pawn and will not work on their diktats”, ASI Thapa allegedly said.
He further said that some people have tried to bribe him which he refused as such tactics don’t work on him.
“I will only follow the instructions of my senior officers and I only want clear roads here”, he added.
