Jammu & Kashmir Police officials on Sunday held a meeting to ensure fool-proof security of the pilgrims in view of the forthcoming Navratras.
SHO Katra headed a security review meeting at Katra with SP Amit Bhasin and DSP Kuljeet Singh, in view of the visit of pilgrims to Shri Mata Vasihno Devi Shrine Katra.
The meeting emphasized ensuring fool-proof security of the yatris at track upto Bhawan who will be coming to visit the Shrine and the direction has been given regarding this.
“We have informed you earlier and now again we are informing you that we are checking the security measures here. We have divided the security deployment in two parts pre-security deployment and deployment during Navratras here”, SHO Katra said.
He further informed that from last 15 days the local police is arranging security measures in which they are conducting suprise police naka’s, LRP’s and with that they are also checking the local hotels , dhabas and also censusing them.
“We have also deployed our troops in far flung areas of Katra so that no unwanted elements are allowed to indulge in any kind of criminal activities or any action which may prove prejudicial to the security of the area, besides this joint long-range patrols of JKP have also been launched round the clock in the entire area of Katra”, he said.
He added that during the Navratras the security measures here will be more tightened to provide the coming Yatris a safe milieu.
“We have deployed our police troops in nine zones here and we have deployed a DSP level officer in all these zones for supervision”, he said.
