Jammu, 18 Sept 22:  Several sanitation workers on Sunday has warned the local regime to observe hunger strike in Jammu if  they are not regularized in-time.

The protesting Safai karamcharis has alleged that the inflation has influenced their daily budget and they can’t survive on a meagre wage of  thousand  rupees per month.

Ramesh kumar one of the vexed protestors allegedly said that he has been working as a full time sanitation worker from years, the govt use to pay him Rs1000/month which was increased to  rupees 6700 per month and which lastly again hiked to thousand per month.

He further said that they also play a role in forming the govt then why they are not being treated similarly like other citizens.

‘We want the local LG govt to regularize us otherwise we will die of starvation here”, he said.

Mohd Ashraf another protestor allegedly said that he has worked for 22yrs in health department in Doda district and  till date no govt has made him a permanent employee.

“It has become very difficult to stand in the storm of rising prices, our plight has become miserable and things have become costly. We appeal the govt to appoint increase our wages”, he said.
