Jammu, 13 September, 2022: Jammu Municipal Corporation today conducted a drive against the street vendors in Jammu seizing their merchandise.
As per the report, the members of flying squad (JMC) impounded merchandise of several vendors, who were found “encroaching roads” in Jammu, in a bid to ease the traffic movement and ensure hassle-free commutation.

A street vendor said that the Jammu Municipal Committee (JMC) workers seized his cart from which he use to earn his livelihood.
“I just came from here my village and haven’t eaten anything since morning. I haven’t earn a single penny yet, what will a poor man like me will do without his cart on which I use to sell my fruits”, he further said.
He added that the JMC officials won’t return his cart cause he don’t possess a license and it takes weeks to get release of ones confiscated merchandise from the JMC office.
There must be some provision so that these street vendors can get license for themselves, the report said.
