A man was arrested for raping a minor girl in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Friday, police said.
“One accused namely Aijaz Ahmad Sheikh S/o Ghulam Nabi Sheikh R/o Zewan, Khunmoh arrested for raping a minor girl of Maloora (name withheld), 4 days ago,” Srinagar Police said in a tweet.
The police further said that the accused was absconding after the crime.
“A case under FIR No 24/2022 under relevant sections of IPC & POSCO act was already registered,” the tweet read.
