Jammu, August 27, 2022: Scores of PHE daily wage workers on Saturday paid their tribute in Jammu to one of their worker who  committed suicide in kalakot area of Rajouri.

The  PHE worker gathered here in Jammu to pay their obeisance to the deceased Swarn Singh a resident of Kalakot, Rajouri who committed suicide due to financial restraints, as per the protesting PHE workers.

A protesting PHE daily wager  allegedly said that they have been carrying out protests in Jammu from 22th of June and are still staging protests in support of their demands and today they are paying their homage to the fellow daily wager and protestor who end his life cause of destitution as the PHE department from 70 months is not paying salary to their employees.

“this is the not the first time that our fellow employee has committed suicide as earlier approximately 300-350 of PHE daily wagers has committed suicide because they were not given their salaries on time by the department due to which they went bankrupt and thus they ended their life”, he further said.

He further added that their deceased employee was suffering from financial crisis cause earlier his wife was hospitalized cause of snake bite for whose treatment he took loans.  They will not roll their strike till the govt don’t implement regularization policy for them, he said.

“Our deceased companion  served 28yrs in this dept and when he was facing such storms the department doesn’t came to his aid , we just want to say one thing to our daily wagers that they shouldn’t lose their hope as we are with them and when we see such incidents we feel disappointed”, another protestor said.

One of the protestors  allegedly said that it is the 67th day of their protest and the local administration have not done anything for their grievances. He further said that they don’t agree that their fellow daily wager committed suicide instead they believe it is a murder for which the local regime is responsible.
